What can make a man immortal? This question was answered by the learned teachers . They clarify that it is the religion of the priests to benefit his clients as selflessness Is the habit of a devil. Being inspired by such spiritual thoughts, the famous social worker of Lucknow , Munshi Naval Kishor thought for establishing a secular vernacular Anglo School in the city. With the limited available resources, it was very difficult to transform this dream into a reality ; but it was not impossible . The man with firm determination dares to attempt such difficult tasks . It happened with Munshi Naval Kishor also.

Munshi Ji initiated this pious deed In 1885 by sending a proposal To Mr. J.C. Nessfield ,The Inspector Of School Awadh at that time. In the proposal they committed to pay the endorsement amount of Rs fifteen thousand. For the maintenance and other needs they also committed to pay Rs 50 per month as a donation. Other eminent personality of the city Rai Bahadur Brij Bhushan Lal readily agreed to give the endorsement amount of Rs 7500/, After that many semi-govt and non-govt Organizations also came forward for the aid.

Seeing the zeal of these eminent personalities the inspector of School Awadh sent a recommendation letter to the Director of public instruction North West province and Awadh on 28th April 1886. It was also requested to transfer Malika Jahan Baradari for college campus. It was known as Aagamir Ki Dhyodhi. The Director sent the letter to the chief secretary, North West province & Awadh pointing out the importance and need of such an institution. The correspondence went on and ultimately Malika Jahan Baradari alias Aagamir Ki Dhyodhi was handed over to the college for rent of Rs 5/- per month As the decision and efforts of establishment of this college started in the silver Jubilee year of Queen Victoria’s rule, the word Jubilee was added with the name of the college.

The managing committee was always aware to make this college well equipped. In the process of development, from August 8, 1907 this college was completely controlled by the education department Now it was called Govt. Jubilee High school. Visitor’s committee was established in place of Managing Committee It was also directed that four meritorious students getting highest marks will be given scholarship from the interest of the endorsement amount. In 1922 it got the permission to start intermediate classes and the college became famous as Govt. Jubilee Inter College.
